I can finally say it out loud and with a heart full of joy: I’m a Certified Natural Cosmetics Teacher!
I couldn’t be happier, as this is more than a certification. It marks the end of a chapter that has shaped me deeply. After two years of study, reflections, research and creation, I’ve completed one of the most meaningful journeys of my life: the professional program in Natural Cosmetics Teaching at the Instituto Europeo de Dermocosmética. A beautiful path that brought together the world of DIY natural cosmetics formulation with professional structure and scientific precision.
These two years have been a dance between curiosity and discipline, filled with notebooks overflowing with formulas and ideas, nights of study and those bright moments when everything suddenly makes sense. I’ve realized that the path of learning is never a straight line but is made of questions, experiments, little mistakes that make you wiser, and small discoveries that make you fall in love with what you do all over again.
What These Two Years Have Taught Me
When I started this program, I already had more than 10 years of experience in DIY Cosmetics, but I was longing for something deeper. I had spent endless hours researching ingredients, formulating and experimenting in my little Wonderlab, but I felt I needed something more structured, a way to turn my knowledge into something more professional, more solid, more complete. That’s when I found the Instituto Europeo de Dermocosmética, and from the first module, I knew it was exactly what I had been looking for.
Module after module, I felt like I was not only going deeper, but also refining how I think about formulation and the relationship between the skin and what we apply to it.
I learned to observe the subtle ways a formulation behaves: how a blend of light oils and esters can make a lotion whisper on the skin or how a tiny percentage of an active can totally transform a formula.
Even though I came with experience, there were areas I wanted to strengthen.
The course helped me understand the skin on a whole new level: its types, needs, and how it absorbs and responds to different ingredients.
I revisited topics I thought I knew and found there was so much more to discover.
Every lesson reminded me that in DIY natural cosmetics, learning never ends. There’s always a new molecule to discover, a new plant extract to explore, a new way to understand how nature cares for us.
And honestly… I love that!
That sense of never-ending discovery is the heartbeat of Lily in Wonderlab.
I particularly enjoyed the part dedicated to workshop organization and teaching, where I saw my path take shape clearly. I could picture myself guiding others, sharing knowledge, seeing that spark of discovery in someone’s eyes when they realize they can create something beautiful with their own hands.
That image never left me.
One of the things I truly appreciated about the Instituto Europeo de Dermocosmética is how their courses adapt to every stage of the journey. You can start from zero, learning how to make your first creams and balms, or go deeper if you already have experience and want to give your passion a more professional and scientific direction, learning at your own rhythm. If you speak Spanish and have been thinking about studying natural cosmetics more seriously, I really suggest you take a look at what they do. For me, it has been a very valuable experience.
When My Vocation Became Clear
During the final modules, when I studied cosmetic commercialization, laboratory requirements and regulations, I found that part genuinely fascinating. But as I went through it, my vocation became even clearer to me.
What truly moves me is sharing knowledge, teaching, and inspiring others — something I already do with Lily in Wonderlab, and that now, with this formation, I can take even further.
What makes me happy is teaching, researching, inspiring and seeing others feel empowered to create their own natural products at home, connecting with that creative and sensorial joy of transforming ingredients into something nourishing both the skin and the soul.
The Language of Creation
Making DIY cosmetics has always been more than just a craft for me, it’s a dialogue among art, science, self care, emotion and beauty (read more about me and my DIY Cosmetics philosophy here).
It’s my own language of creativity, a part of me I couldn’t live without. I realized this time ago, after becoming a mother, when I had to set aside my DIY cosmetics for a while. Without even noticing it, I began to miss that part of me: the quiet joy of creating, the scent of ingredients, the feeling of shaping something with my hands. I understood that creativity wasn’t just a hobby, it was something I needed to breathe and live, something rooted so deeply in my soul that I couldn’t ignore it, a part of me that has been there since childhood. Deciding to bring it back, to return to my blog, to my little wonder lab, to the joy of making… and to invest in myself through these studies has been one of the best choices I’ve made. It made me happier, more fulfilled, more me, not only for myself, but also for the people I love.
Many women feel that after becoming mothers or starting a family, they shouldn’t invest time or energy in themselves anymore. But that’s not true. Nurturing your passions and giving space to your interests doesn’t take away from your family but it makes you a happier and better mother, partner and person.
The Future I’m Building: Full of Inspiration, Surprises, and New Dreams
I’m really grateful to the Instituto Europeo de Dermocosmética for these two years of learning, and to Cristóbal and his team — always patient, attentive, and full of passion for what they do.
Their support and structured guidance helped me turn my passion into something more professional and that means a lot to me.
Now, I feel ready for a new chapter.
Lily in Wonderlab will keep growing, blooming and transforming, with more life, inspiration, knowledge and creative energy. These studies opened many new doors. I feel inspired, focused and ready to take my knowledge into something even more meaningful to share with you.
I have many projects quietly taking shape behind the scenes, some almost ready to see the light, others still unfolding slowly, like ideas that need their own rhythm to grow. What I can tell you is that they all share the same purpose: to inspire you, guide you, and bring you even closer to the joy of creating natural beauty with your own hands.
There are many surprises ahead: new ways of learning, new stories, more inspiration and new creations that I can’t wait to reveal. Lily in Wonderlab will continue to be my space to share knowledge, inspiration, and that special mix of science and poetry that has always defined it.
Everything will remain mainly in English, so I can reach and connect with all of you around the world, but there will also be small and special projects in Spanish and Italian, the languages that are part of my roots and daily life.
I’m so excited for what’s coming. I can feel that a new stage is beginning, full of light, creativity and discovery. And I can’t wait for you to be part of it!
To everyone who has supported me on this path: thank you!
And to those of you who dream of learning, teaching, or simply creating cosmetics that feel alive: never stop studying, experimenting, and wondering.
Because that’s where the magic begins!
